Biography

In 1994, Alex moved to the San Francisco Bay Area after graduating from Maine College of Art. While slaving away in the corporate world, she had the good luck to be included in a government grant which provided HTML training. Alex was immediately inspired by the interactive media and has ever since focussed her design work on the development of web sites.

In the years since her introduction to HTML, Alex has developed and designed web sites using text editors, PageMill, Dreamweaver and Golive. In recent years, Alex has chosen to use Adobe software products exclusively for the production of all her web and graphic design work. Alex has always worked on a Mac and avoids Windows (and all other poorly designed user interfaces) like the plague.

Alex received corporate training in Access database design over a decade ago. She continues to develop desktop databases using FileMaker and web databases using MySQL. Most of her corporate positions have included interface design for online software applications as well as management of the company web site.
